was born in Athens, Greece. He studied composition at the University of Music and dramatic arts in Vienna. He finished his studies with high honours and was awarded the academic degree of Magister Artium (class of Erich Urbanner). For his works he has received prizes from the city of Vienna, the Music University of Graz and Vienna and the Austrian Office of the Federal Chancellor. The latest commissions made to him, include a work for the city of Trossingen in Germany, a work for the Ensemble modern international academy, as well as an orchestral piece for the Greek radio symphonic orchestra. Concerts in 2006 included performances in East Germany, in the city of Athens, in the city of Thessaloniki, in Swiss, in Vienna and in Munich. Perikles Liakakis lives in Vienna and holds a teaching position in the University of Music and Performing arts of Vienna for Harmony, Counterpoint and Introduction in composition.

Er hat im Jahr 2006 Aufträge von der internationalen Ensemble Modern Akademie, die Stadt Trossingen, sowie das griechische Radiosymphonieorchester bekommen. Er lebt in Wien und unterrichtet in der dortigen Universität für Musik, Tonsatz und Komposition.
