was born in 1939 in Plauen. Franz Haldenberg is the pseudonym of Franz-Erhard Dimpfl. He was cellist with the Munich Philharmonic orchestra until he retired in 2006. His arrangements for pure cello ensemble are famous. He performs with the "Philharmonisches Celloquartett", and with a literature and music program together with author Herbert Rosendorfer.
